Brampton Library Brainyhacks takes place online, using the Discord platform, beginning with the opening ceremony at 4:00PM Friday, February 26, 2021 with an expected hacking duration of 42 consecutive hours. No development may start prior to the opening ceremony.
While teams are welcome to work on their projects at any time during the hackathon period, Brampton Library staff and mentors will only be available on the platform to support teams with their projects between the hours of 9am-5pm on Saturday February 27 and 9am-12pm on Sunday, February 28.
Individuals must participate in Brampton Library Brainyhacks as part of a team. A team must have a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 4 members. Brampton Library will assist participants with forming a team if they do not have one.
Any software development tools, game engine, IDE, and/or programming language can be used for the event. Teams are permitted to use publicly developed and openly licensed APIs and SDKs for their projects.Hardware-based solutions will also be accepted.
Only 1 entry per team will be accepted.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
Partners, judges, mentors, volunteers, organizers, Brampton Library staff, and anyone else participating in the event are also subject to our Code of Conduct.
Brampton Library is a safe, inclusive environment and hence has a zero-tolerance policy on harassment or abuse of any kind. Harassment includes, but is not limited to: offensive verbal or written comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion or social class, deliberate intimidation, stalking, sustained disruption of talks or other events, and inappropriate contact.
If what you are doing is making someone else uncomfortable, please stop! Direction from staff, volunteers or any participant to stop a certain behavior should be complied with immediately.
Brampton Library and event partners may take any action it deems appropriate in dealing with harassment, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact Brampton Library and event partners using the reporting procedures defined below.
Reporting Procedures:
If you feel uncomfortable or think there may be a potential violation of the code of conduct, please report it immediately to one of the event organizers and moderators listed below. All reports will remain anonymous.
